Diablo 4 patch 3.2.3 lists performance improvements without measured gains, while its Prime Evil Powers fix requires an extra recovery step for characters already affected. Build 73883 is dated October 14, 2026, and applies across all platforms; an October 15 search does not change that release date. For plans involving D4 Gold, check whether quest access needs attention before committing resources.

What the performance changes actually confirm

The update lists stability, performance, visual, and interface improvements, but gives no frame-rate figures or hardware-specific results. That supports expecting technical corrections, not promising a particular increase in speed or confirming that every crash or display problem is resolved. Judge the result against the specific issue affecting your play.

Recovering access to Prime Evil Powers

The patch prevents a character from using a Splinter of a Prime Evil before completing the Seasonal questline. Previously, using that item early could block quest completion and access to Prime Evil Powers. The correction prevents that sequence from happening again, but does not reset progress on an affected character.

Recovery requires a new character in the same partition, meaning the same combination of Normal/Hardcore and Normal/SSF conditions. Complete the Seasonal questline on that character to unlock Prime Evil Powers for every character within that partition. A character created under different conditions does not meet the recovery requirement.

Targeted fixes are more specific than performance claims

The Horadric Cube correction restores reroll functionality for Impairment Reduction, Barrier Generation, +Healing, and Critical Strike Damage. It does not announce higher values for those affixes. Boss corrections address Tyrael obstructing access to Baal's loot, the Sandstone Golem failing to respawn after a death, and the Countess crossing the fog wall and blocking progression. Call of the Underworld also receives a correction for missing Unbroken Bones drops.

Before reviewing Diablo 4 Items for your next build, identify what is stopping progress. For the Splinter-related quest lock, match both partition settings on the recovery character and complete the Seasonal questline there; installing the update alone does not restore that character's quest progress.
