Why do some kitchen upgrades feel disappointing?

A kitchen renovation is supposed to feel exciting, yet many people end up disappointed by small details they didn’t consider early on. From surfaces that chip easily to finishes that age poorly, what separates a satisfying upgrade from a frustrating one?

I remember standing in my kitchen months after a renovation and already noticing wear where I didn’t expect it. That’s when I realized how much the worktop choice influences the entire space, not just visually but functionally too.

Since then, I’ve been much more careful with recommendations. When friends ask what I’d do differently, I usually point them toward worktops essex and suggest they really look into quality and craftsmanship first. It’s the kind of upgrade that doesn’t shout for attention, but you appreciate it every single day — especially when everything still looks good long after installation.
