A Section 8 Company is registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 for promoting charitable and non-profit objectives such as education, art, science, religion, social welfare, and environmental protection.
Unlike regular companies, its profits are used only for promoting its objectives, and dividends cannot be distributed to members. To register, an applicant must file the SPICe+ (INC-32) form along with the MoA (INC-13), AoA, INC-14, INC-15, and INC-12 for a license from the Registrar of Companies (ROC).
Once incorporated, it enjoys tax benefits, legal recognition, and credibility, making it ideal for NGOs and charitable organizations.
