My research focuses on JAMB subject requirements and how they influence students’ academic choices, admission outcomes, and overall success in tertiary education in Nigeria. The study seeks to simplify the complexities surrounding the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) subject combinations, which often confuse many candidates during the admission process.
The core objective of my research is to provide accurate, data-driven guidance that helps students make informed decisions when selecting their subjects for various courses and institutions. Many students lose admission opportunities each year due to incorrect subject combinations, misinformation, or inadequate understanding of admission policies. My work addresses this issue by compiling verified JAMB subject requirements for different courses across Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education — presenting them in a clear, accessible, and research-based format.
This research integrates data analysis, policy review, and educational counseling principles to ensure that information provided is both authentic and useful. By analyzing admission trends, university guidelines, and JAMB brochures, the study bridges the gap between student expectations and institutional requirements. It also explores the role of educational awareness in reducing admission errors and improving the overall success rate of candidates applying for courses such as Computer Science, Medicine, Law, Engineering, and other major disciplines.
Beyond data documentation, my research emphasizes educational empowerment. It encourages students to understand the logic behind subject combinations linking each subject to its relevance in future academic and professional pathways. Through this, learners are not only guided on what subjects to take but also gain insight into why those subjects are important for their chosen careers.
