পরে মর্গের কর্তব্যরত ডোম এসে মর্গ অন্ধকার দেখতে পেয়ে লাইট জালায়। এসময় আবু সাইদ ও তার সঙ্গীকে মর্গে ঘুমাতে দেখেন।
মরদেহ দেখে কর্তব্যরত ডোমের সন্দেহ হলে ডাক্তারকে খবর দেয়। ডাক্তার এসে ময়নাতদন্ত করে ধ'র্ষ'ণের আলামত পায়।

এখানে দুটো ঘটনা ঘটেছে, প্রথমত একটা লাশ, সে লাশ হেফাজতে থাকা অবস্থাতে ধ'র্ষি'ত হয়েছে। এটা একটা সিগনিফিকেন্ট ঘটনা।
